American Mensa
Founded in 1946, Mensa is an international organization that has one-and only one-unique qualification for membership: high IQ. The word "mensa" means "table" in Latin, suggesting a meeting of the minds. We are a round-table society, where race, color, creed, national origin, age, politics, educational, or social background do not matter. What matters is the wealth of the knowledge we share with the world.
Mensa has three stated purposes:

Utah Mensa
Utah Mensa offers various opportunities for members. Monthly dinners are held in both the Salt Lake and Ogden areas. We hold many activities for all ages during the year, such as visiting local museums and places of interest, a summer pool party, or hiking local trails.
We also offer current Utah Mensans the opportunity to host a game night where a Mensa Select game is purchased by Utah Mensa for the host to play and keep. If the host already has a Mensa Select or other game that he or she would like to play, then Utah Mensa will reimburse the host for refreshments. Hosts must post the event on our Utah Mensa Facebook page and the game night must be open to other members, but non-members may attend. Reimbursement for game nights may be up to $40. Contact our officers for more information on activities or to suggest an event. |
